I received exceptional service.
I had an enjoyable stay and would return here, thanks a lot. It was fairly clean, everyone was attentive. The hotel had excellant and unbeatable location close to pubs, restaurants and fast food outlets, a tram stop that will start operation next month, and all the tourist attraction. I visited Parry st Garage few metres away from the venue for a few drinks.

They offered airy and new-fashioned rooms with a fridge, the bathroom, buffet breakfast. Having a modern shower and shower facilities was a bonus.

The staff at Mercure were friendly and courteous, enhancing the overall experience. The facilities, including conference space, were well-measured for my business needs. The location was convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions, which made it ideal for work-related activities. ,
The hotel is dated and in need of improvements; noise from outside was a concern.

Our stay was good, enjoyed more than adequate and above average breakfasts.
Toast, cereal and fruit was a bonus.

The hotel room was very dirty and my boy friend and I got bite. All his back and my arm are full of red spots and swelling. It's terrible.

Great central location, perfect for exploring nearby attractions like the Newcastle Art Gallery and Christ Church Cathedral. the cleanliness standards need improvement; the bathroom felt neglected and the bed setup was disappointing. Staff were friendly, but the restaurant closure limited dining options. With better attention to detail, it could be a wonderful stay, but I likely won't return.

The location was convienient for my trip purpose.
I arrived and Travelodge had not received any information about a booking for me from Booked.net. Non smoking floor was putrid with cigarette smoke in the evening. Outside the front foyer stunk of urine.

A rocky start but cozy stay
The bed was surprisingly comfortable, great to unwind after our long journey. The friendly staff greeted us with warmth, turning our frowns into smiles, despite an initial hiccup. The quiet atmosphere was refreshing.
The check-in process was frustrating. With keys malfunctioning, it took multiple trips to the reception just to access our room. The outdated decor and cleanliness in the bathrooms left much to be desired, casting a shadow over our overall experience.

Close to Newcastle City however there isn't much to do in City.
Noisy from the TV next door in the early morning and from the people in the corridor.

The standard twin room was basically suffocating with noise from the vent, and i can't believe the smelly stains on the chair. I mean, where was my complimentary chocolate on arrival? I expected at least that, since i'm not just a regular guest. Breakfast? Good luck with that, the options were just plain sad.

Finally getting into the right rooms. The gallant efforts of two young staff on duty on arrival.
1.The actual booking was wrong.2. No breakfast available until 7am and no alternative offered (breakfast was included in the cost of the room)3.No trade off i.e. - no breakfast, no charge for parking.
